The public is invited to the Third Thursday Poetry Series at Pebble Hill, featuring Michael McFee, on Thursday, Jan. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments and book sales will be available at 6 p.m.McFee has taught in the Creative Writing Program at UNC-Chapel Hill since 1990. He is the author of eleven books of poetry, including We Were Once Here, That Was Oasis, Shinemaster, Earthly and Colander. He has published two collections of essays, Appointed Rounds: Essays and The Napkin Manuscripts: Selected Essays and an Interview. He has received the James Still Award for Writing about the Appalachian South, from the Fellowship of Southern Writers and the Thomas Wolfe Memorial Literary Award from the Western North Carolina Historical Association.The Third Thursday Poetry Series at Pebble Hill is sponsored by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities, Department of English and Southern Humanities Review in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University; the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Auburn University; and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.The Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill is located at 101 S.
