Candidate open forum dates announced for dean, College of Liberal Arts

The Search Committee for the position of Dean, College of Liberal Arts, has identified four finalists who will each participate in a series of on-campus interviews and campus wide open forums. Each candidate has been asked to respond to the following five prompts as a part of the open forum:

  1. Brief description of their background and experience;

  2. Discuss an example of demonstrated innovative leadership at their institution. This may include how they have supported partnerships and programs that support student learning and/or the creative culture and economy in their region;

  3. Why they are interested in this leadership opportunity at Auburn University;

  4. How central/catalytic are the CLA disciplines to the future of education and to society; and

  5. What may be some exciting opportunities they see for CLA.

The campus wide open forums will be hosted via Zoom from 3:30 p.m.— 4:30 p.m. CST on the following days:

Candidate A: Monday, Jan. 24

Candidate B: Thursday, Jan. 27

Candidate C: Monday, Jan. 31        

Candidate D: Wednesday, Feb. 2

Candidate information, including letters of interest, CVs, Zoom links and evaluation survey forms, will be posted to the search website at least two business days before each forum, AU login required. All members of the campus community are invited to participate in the open forums and submit candidate evaluation forms. Evaluation forms will be open through Sunday, Feb. 6, at 11:59 p.m.
