Auburn employees reminded of important dates involving federal requirement to be vaccinated
Article body
Auburn University employees who have not yet started the COVID-19 vaccination process will need to do so by the dates listed below to be able to achieve full vaccination by the federally required Dec. 8 deadline.
-
Pfizer: First dose by Nov. 3, 2021, and second dose by Nov. 24, 2021.
-
Johnson & Johnson: Dose needed by Nov. 24, 2021.
*Those receiving the Moderna vaccine were required to get their first dose by Oct. 27 and must have their second dose by Nov. 24, 2021. Be advised that Auburn University will be closed November 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, so vaccines will not be administered on campus that day. If you plan to get both doses of the Pfizer vaccine on campus, the first dose should be completed by Tuesday, Nov. 2, so the second dose can be administered on Tuesday, Nov. 23 before the holidays.
Currently, Auburn employees can get the initial and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine through the Auburn University Pharmaceutical Care Center, or AUPCC. To increase access for those interested in receiving the vaccine, Auburn also will offer initial, second and booster doses at Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum on Nov. 1, 2, 22 and 23. Officials plan to have all three types of the vaccine available at the Beard-Eaves clinics (Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson), with supply based on the level of demand for any given vaccine. As Auburn prioritizes access to initial and second doses of the vaccine, the booster shot will not be offered at the AUPCC and will be available only at the Beard-Eaves November clinics.
