Applications open for Chinese Language Learning Scholarship to Taiwan

Want to study abroad learning Chinese and have all your major expenses paid for? The Chinese Language Learning Scholarship is now accepting applicants for both the three and six month programs at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan.

The three-month program will run Dec. 13, 2021 – Feb. 25, 2022, and the six-month program will run Dec. 13, 2021 – June 3, 2022. The scholarship for both programs covers the learning center’s tuition, travel expenses (airfare and quarantine costs) and includes a monthly stipend. The scholarship is open to Auburn University undergraduate and graduate students with at least some Chinese language coursework completed.

Interested applicants must submit the application form linked below and provide the listed supporting documents by Oct. 20.

-A scanned copy of the passport data page (first page of passport with picture)
-Official enrollment certificate from Auburn
-A statement of purpose about why you want to study Chinese at NCKU
-Two letters of recommendation
-Other supporting documents (such as transcripts of Chinese courses taken)

The Chinese Language Learning Scholarship is an outcome of the joint agreement signed on Sept. 1 between Auburn, the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, or NCKU, and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta. The goal of the agreement is to promote joint educational and cultural collaboration, and in turn establish a long-lasting friendship and cooperative partnership that enhances the educational experience at Auburn and NCKU.
