Auburn mayor proclaims Oct. 1 Down Syndrome Day in Auburn
Mayor Ron Anders joined nearly two dozen EAGLES students on campus to sign a proclamation declaring Oct. 1 to be Down Syndrome Day in Auburn. EAGLES is Auburn’s program for students with intellectual disabilities.
The proclamation also recognized October 2021 as Down Syndrome Month in the City of Auburn “to encourage all citizens to work together to celebrate the lives of individuals with Down syndrome as well as recognize their accomplishments, promote awareness and support their caretakers and service providers while remembering to appreciate and regard every individual with dignity as a valued member of the community.”
