Emerge at Auburn will kick-off the 2021-2022 Emerge Presents Speaker Series with Alex Sheen, philanthropic innovator and author of “because I said I would" Thursday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. in the Student Activities Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and a 30-minute meet and greet with Sheen will take place after the keynote. Emerge Presents Speaker Series is free and open to all Auburn University students.
Sheen is the founder of because I said I would, a social movement and nonprofit dedicated to bettering humanity through promises made and kept. He has been featured on The Steve Harvey Show, Megyn Kelly Today, NPR, TED Talk and several major news outlets. Sheen believes every individual has the strength to become a person of their word, and he inspires others to become more accountable to their promises through compelling and real-life examples.
