Liberal Arts' Hale receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Election Center

Professor of Political Science Kathleen Hale was recognized at the Election Center's 36th Annual National Conference in Phoenix this week with the Center’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Hale was recognized for her leadership, research and scholarly works in election administration over the past decade.

Hale serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Election Officials and directs Auburn University faculty in the Association's national professional certification program for election administrators, voter registrars and vendors as well as Auburn’s Graduate Certificate in Election Administration. In addition, Hale is a Faculty Fellow with the Auburn University McCrary Institute for Cyber and Infrastructure Security, and serves on the advisory board of the MIT Election and Data Sciences Lab. A prolific scholar on voting and elections, she is also the series editor of the Elections, Voting, and Technology book series for Palgrave Macmillan Press and most recently she co-authored (with Mitchell Brown, professor in the Department of Political Science) How We Vote: Innovation in American Elections (2020, Georgetown University Press).

Hale also teaches courses in election administration, qualitative methods and intergovernmental relations. Her research examines how to improve capacity of government and nonprofit organizations to address public problems.
