As of July 1, 2021, Alabama state law and NCAA rules allow for student-athletes to be compensated for the use of their name, image and likeness, or NIL.

Auburn student-athletes can receive compensation (monetary or anything of value) for use of their NIL. Please note that compensation must be for the use of a student-athlete’s NIL at fair market value and may not be a condition of athletic performance.

Auburn employees however, may not arrange NIL deals for our student-athletes and cannot cause compensation under state law.

If you have any questions surrounding NIL, please visit the SPIRIT webpage or email auburnspirit@auburn.edu.
