Biggio Center faculty fellows facilitating a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning reading group

The Biggio Center faculty fellows are facilitating a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, or SoTL, reading group during the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters. This faculty learning community will meet biweekly and welcomes all faculty, postdocs, and graduate students to bring their expertise as disciplinary scholars while sharing teaching experience and research ideas. No prior experience with SoTL is need - both experts and novices are welcome.

SoTL is the systematic study of teaching and learning. It brings a research lens of systematic and reflective inquiry to classroom practice aimed at improving teaching and student learning. It is also referred to as “classroom research” or “teaching research.” As part of this reading group participants will engage with curated articles as Biggio Center fellows and group members facilitate discussion.
