Campus Safety is providing three training opportunities for employees. The department is holding Employee Emergency Preparedness, Active Shooter Response training and CPR classes in July. It will be in person at Campus Safety’s building on 543 W. Magnolia Ave.

Employee Emergency Preparedness will be held Tuesday, July 13, from 8:30 a.m.–9:30 a.m. This training provides an overview of Auburn University’s emergency guidelines and notification system, expectations of faculty and staff during an emergency, safety devices on campus and general campus safety information. It provides a basic understanding of how to respond to emergencies on Auburn University’s campus.

Active Shooter Response Training is scheduled for Tuesday, July 12, from 9:45 a.m.–11:45 a.m. This training educates attendees on active shooter response by providing a range of options for defending yourself against and active shooter. Each component is discussed in detail and demonstrations of techniques for lockdown, barricading and countering an attack are given.

CPR will be held Thursday, July 15, from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. This American Heart Association certified CPR and Basic First Aid course is designed to prepare you to provide first aid, CPR and use an automated external defibrillator, or AED, in a safe, timely and effective manner. Certification is valid for two years.

Employees should register via Fast-Train.
