Former Draketown community members and other longtime Auburn residents are invited to visit the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts & Humanities at Pebble Hill in Auburn to help identify individuals in a recently acquired set of historic photographs from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 6.

On May 23, 1966, Auburn University student William Wright of Tennessee loaded his Nikkormat camera with film and walked north on what is now Gay Street into the African American neighborhood of Draketown and asked permission to take photographs of residents. The collection of 32 images from that day have not been seen by local residents until now. Wright is retired and currently resides in California.

Pebble Hill is located at 101 S. Debardeleben Street in Auburn. For more information, contact Mark Wilson at 334-844-6198 or mwilson@auburn.edu.
