Dear Auburn Family,

Today, we reflect on how our nation has changed since the murder of George Floyd one year ago.

Auburn leadership recognizes that this moment of remembrance amidst continued injustices around the world impacts our neighbors, friends, families and communities. Last June, President Gogue created the Presidential Task Force for Opportunity and Equity to examine racial inequality, recommend strategies for addressing disparities and foster an equitable and inclusive campus environment. This Task Force remains resolute in our commitment, and the timeless principles of the Auburn Creed serve as our north star as we continue to take steps forward as a community together.

Please be mindful that members of our campus community may need additional support. Create space to listen to your peers and acknowledge today as an important moment to reflect both on the progress and work left to do.

Sincerely,

Presidential Task Force for Opportunity and Equity
