Director of Auburn’s Hunger Solutions Institute named to journal’s editorial board

Alicia Powers, managing director of the Hunger Solutions Institute in the College of Human Sciences, has been appointed to the first editorial board of the Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development.

Powers is one of 82 food system activist-scholars, professionals and experts to serve on the board. In this role, she will assist the journal by sharing its published content through the institutes network, recruiting organizations and grassroots groups to share their research and supporting increased representation in the journal’s content. In addition to editorial advising, the board will help the journal increase diversity, equity and impact.

The Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development is the world’s only peer-reviewed, transdisciplinary journal focused solely on food and farming-related community development.

It is published by the Thomas A. Lyson Center for Civic Agriculture and Food Systems, a project of the Center for Transformative Action, a nonprofit affiliate of Cornell University.
