Auburn wheelchair basketball finishes season ranked third in the country

Auburn University's wheelchair basketball team recently completed their most successful season to date, finishing the 2020-21 season ranked 3rd in the country. The National Wheelchair Basketball Association's College National Championship was held in Tuscaloosa March 12-13. After an early loss in the tournament Auburn fought back to finish 3rd. Auburn defeated Southwest Minnesota State University 64-62 to capture third. Despite trailing by as many as 15 points late in the second half, the Auburn Tigers fought back with junior Sam Armas scoring the gaming winning bucket with 5 seconds left to play.
Freshman Evan Heller was named to the All-Tournament Team for his play during the tournament. Auburn student-athlete Logan Caudle was recognized for his success in the classroom being named as an Academic All-American, while Sam Armas and Fisher Rizk were also recognized as Academic All-American Honorable Mention.
