Youth Protection Policy goes into effect March 1
Article body
Auburn University’s new Youth Protection Policy will go into effect March 1st. This policy helps strengthen Auburn’s commitment to protect minors, fulfill obligations mandated by law and provide the best possible experience for any minor visiting campus or participating in university-related programs. Click here to view the full policy.
The policy has positive far-reaching effects and applies to university employees, students, contractors and volunteers working with youth programs, including online youth programs. This policy updates and strengthens the previous Minors on Campus Policy. This policy also helps reinforce Auburn University’s Youth Protection Program as a whole.
The Youth Protection Program supports and protects the university community by developing standards regarding the protection of minors; delivering education and training on youth protection strategies; and assessing compliance with laws and the university’s policies affecting youth protection.
In anticipation and in aide of the policy’s implementation, Risk Management and Safety will launch a new Youth Protection Program resource page.
This page will include frequently asked questions, a planning checklist, forms and resources, and more. Program directors will also be able to get information on how to register a youth program.
For questions about the Youth Protection Policy or the Youth Protection Program, please contact Kim White, Youth Protection Program manager, at 334-750-6679 or kim.white@auburn.edu.
