College of Education doctoral grad Palmer named Dean of Education at Troy University

Kerry Palmer, who earned his doctorate at Auburn in the Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology, has been named the new dean of the College of Education at Troy University.

“The most important thing we do at Troy University is serve our students. The second most important thing we do is hire good people,” said Dr. Jack Hawkins Jr., Chancellor. “Dr. Palmer brings expertise and experience, as well as a proven track record of leadership that makes him well suited for his new position.”

Palmer served in leadership roles at Montgomery’s Trinity Presbyterian School for more than 10 years, including nearly six years as Head of School. Prior to joining Trinity in 2008, Palmer taught band and served as a K-12 school administrator for 13 years. Most recently, he has served Troy as the college’s associate dean.
