Ten years ago, Angie Colvin Burque, a clinical professor of social work and director of field education for the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work, founded the Expressions of a BraveHeart Fine Arts Program, or BraveHeart.

BraveHeart is a fine arts program offering art, music and dance classes to enhance the quality of life for preteens, youth and young adults 11–21 years old with moderate to severe disabilities. BraveHearts is a safe, respectful and understanding setting where members can develop friendships, explore fine arts and enhance self-esteem.

For their 10th birthday, BraveHeart is hosting a celebration via Zoom on Nov. 9, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. The link is https://auburn.zoom.us/s/8848341458 and the meeting ID is 884 834 1458.

An outdoor and in-person celebration will occur on Nov. 16, from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at the Opelika Sportsplex located at 1001 Andrews Rd. in Opelika.
