Acclaimed singer-songwriter John Paul White will perform a free livestream concert at the Gogue Performing Arts Center Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is the first of three virtual performances of the Gogue Center’s new Alabama Artists Series that highlights the state’s rich diversity of musical talent.

White, who lives in Florence, Alabama, has cultivated a two-decade-long music career as a solo artist and, from 2008–14, as a member of the Grammy Award-winning duo The Civil Wars. Last year, White released “The Hurting Kind,” a tribute album to the country music of his childhood. He is a co-founder of the Florence/Muscle Shoals-based Single Lock Records label and regularly tours with other Single Lock artists.
