Preferred name and pronoun functionality now available in Banner

An update to the university’s Banner operating system includes new functionality that allows students, faculty and staff to indicate a preferred name and pronouns. Individuals interested in updating their records to reflect a preferred name or pronouns should visit the personal identification page. This information can also be modified by visiting AU Access, clicking the self-service button at the top of the screen, selecting the personal information tab, clicking name change information and following the instructions.

After an individual has modified their information, preferred names and pronouns will populate to multiple systems, including Banner, Canvas, the Auburn email directory, People Finder, AU Access, StarRez, Advise Assist, Advance, Degree Works and Tiger Scheduler. However, please note there is a separate process for those looking to change their preferred pronouns in Canvas.
