Cathleen Erwin, associate professor in the Department of Political Science and program director for Health Services Administration, or HADM, won the Excellence in Teaching Award presented by the Health Care Management Division of the Academy of Management, or AOM.
The award recognizes innovative and outstanding teaching that takes place in the classroom and provides the opportunity to encourage, recognize and reward the work of excellent, dedicated and inspiring teachers.
AOM is the preeminent global association devoted to management and organization research and the oldest and largest community of management and organization scholars in the world.
This is the third time in the past six years that Erwin has been honored with a teaching award following the CLA Teaching Excellence Award in 2014 and the Mortar Board Excellence in Teaching Award in 2017.
Prior to joining the faculty at Auburn in 2010, Erwin spent over 25 years working in the fields of administration, development, public relations and communications for nonprofit health care, higher education and arts organizations. She has taught a variety of courses in the HADM program, including health care organizational development, insurance and reimbursement, health information technology, leadership and health care quality management.
