Auburn University undergraduate students are invited to contribute brief, online interviews on the rights and responsibilities of citizenship to commemorate Constitution Day 2020.

The 15-minute, recorded interviews will be deposited into a Constitution Day collection in the Special Collections and Archives Department of the Auburn University Libraries. Participating students will receive promotional items to commemorate Constitution Day.

On Sept. 17, 1787, the Constitutional Congress held its final meeting to sign the Constitution of the United States of America. In 2004, Congress designated Sept. 17 of each year as Constitution Day, requiring schools receiving federal funds and all federal agencies to coordinate educational events during the week to promote a better understanding of the Constitution.

The interviews will be coordinated by the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University and the David Mathews Center for Civic Life.
