With the reopening of the Auburn University Libraries’ buildings, the justifications for keeping emergency temporary access to additional HathiTrust assets no longer apply. This access was deactivated on Friday, Aug. 14. Library patrons are welcome to enter the library to select materials from the stacks or request delivery of materials through Campus Delivery services by clicking this link.

Auburn University Libraries began its access to additional HathiTrust assets in early April 2020 when the libraries’ buildings were closed. This allowed library patrons to have online access to almost 48 percent of the libraries' collection.

After the deactivation, titles that previously appeared in HathiTrust as “Temporary Access” for logged-in users will now be displayed with the label “Limited (search only).” Copyright restrictions apply to these items. Items in “Full View” are available via the public domain or through Creative Commons licensing.

Auburn University Libaries became a member of the HathiTrust in 2015. HathiTrust is a large-scale, collaborative repository of digital content from research libraries. It includes content digitized as part of the Google Books project and Internet Archive digitization initiatives, as well as content digitized locally by member libraries.
