College of Liberal Arts offering certificates for professionals

The College of Liberal Arts is offering two academic certificates to professionals in all fields: Leadership for a Global Society and Mediterranean Studies.

Each certificate may be obtained by taking 12 credit hours and provide an opportunity to better understand issues affecting our increasingly global society. Students will explore a variety of topics relevant in the workforce today, including economic, social, political and environmental issues. The certificates encourage critical thinking and can enhance an existing degree or professional experience, especially those working in business, non-profit, political or academic settings.

“We are excited to offer an opportunity to acquire skills required for intercultural competency,” said Giovanna Summerfield, associate dean for educational affairs. “As all work settings today are very diverse and connect with international partners, these certificates can better prepare professionals to contribute and excel in any roles they play within their organizations.”
