High school students invited to participate in free construction management virtual experience

The McWhorter School of Building Science is offering a special opportunity for high school students this summer. A free construction management virtual experience which will consist of five short videos with a few corresponding activities. The experience will also include two live sessions with the recruitment administrator of the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, or CADC, and the building science faculty. This experience is an opportunity for high school students looking to explore the world of construction management and learn more about the building science program at Auburn.

Registration for the summer 2020 session is open. To register, go to www.cadc.auburn.edu/visit and click “Prospective Student Events.”

Students will be allowed to work at their own pace to watch the videos and complete the activities assigned June 22-25. Katherine Buck, the CADC recruitment administrator, will give a session explaining the building science program at Auburn on June 24. The experience will finish with a question-and-answer session with two building science faculty members, Lauren Redden and Mike Hosey, on June 25.

Students who complete the entire program will receive a certificate of completion, as well as an invitation to an on campus event in the fall celebrating their accomplishment, if the COVID-19 pandemic allows it.

Students who register will receive an email on June 22 with the link to the pre-recorded sessions and Zoom meeting for the live sessions.
