eLearning courses available to Auburn employees

Human Resources Development has created courses to give employees another option to advance their professional development. eLearning has several advantages:

  • Employees can take courses in the office, at home or virtually any other location.

  • While some HRD courses are offered intermittently, eLearning courses are offered year-round. Employees can begin and complete a course at any time.

  • Many learners prefer the bite-sized, interactive content that is found in eLearning courses as they can learn at their own pace. Some courses take an hour or less to complete.

  • eLearning courses also promote sustainability. There is no need to drive to the Auburn University Administrative Complex on East Glenn Avenue to take any of these courses. Since courses are online, little if any paper is ever used.

A directory and description of each eLearning course is available in Fast-Train. Each course features an “E” on the end of the course code. Course offerings include:

  • LG120E, Understanding the Americans with Disabilities Act

  • LG140E, Family and Medical Leave Act

  • LG160E, Update: Fair Labor Standards Act

  • LG180E, Title IX: Understanding and Responding to Sexual Misconduct

  • LG200E, Basic HIPAA Training

  • LG220E, Legally Effective Hiring Practice

  • LG240E, New: Preventing and Managing Absenteeism

  • MG410E, Feedback in a Flash

  • MG450E, Behavioral Interviewing

  • MG500E, Introduction to Performance Management

  • MG505E, Performance Management Fundamentals for Employee

  • MG510E, Performance Management Fundamentals for Supervisors

Go to http://www.auburn.edu/administration/human_resources/hrd/schedule.html for more information on eLearning courses or the 80+ classroom courses that are available this semester.

Employees are encouraged to review any of the 14 QuickDive videos that are available at www.auburn.edu/hr/hrd/quick-dives.html

These three to six minute videos focus on performance management, customer service, management fundamentals and other topics. They can even serve as a refresher to what an employee learned in previous HR Development courses.
