Contemporary American street artist Swoon lecture set for Jan. 15

The Department of Art and Art History will host a lecture featuring artist Swoon on Jan. 15 from 5-6 p.m. in 101 Langdon Hall.

Swoon is best known for her large-scale wheat paste prints and paper cutouts that often depict portraits of her friends and family. Her work involves a wide-ranging practice that includes installation and performance. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. The lecture is co-sponsored by the Women's Leadership Institute, Women's Studies, College of Liberal Arts Outreach, Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities, the Department of Philosophy and the Honors College. The lecture is free and open to the public.
