Donating plasma to COVID-19 patients

East Alabama Medical Center and LifeSouth have partnered to participate in a national clinical trial that involves plasma donations that could help COVID-19 patients recover more quickly. Those who have recovered from COVID-19 and are interested in donating plasma must have tested positive for COVID-19, have a positive antibody test and be 14 days out from their last symptom with two subsequent negative swabs or be 28 days out from their last symptom. Those who meet the criteria and were tested at East Alabama Medical Center should call 334-528-SICK (7425) to inform a call center representative of their interest in donating plasma.
