Appropriate Auburn University branding should appear in all videos through use of proper logos, lower thirds and endcards.
Lower thirds should remain on screen long enough to be read easily. Titles should be listed before departments or majors, for example:
- Professor, School of Kinesiology
- Senior, Graphic Design
Videos intended for social media perform best when they are concise and immediately engaging.
- Keep videos short (ideally :60–:90 seconds or less)
- Format videos to match the platform
- Use vertical video when posting to social platforms to ensure native display
All university-produced videos must comply with ADA accessibility requirements.
Captioning requirements:
- Closed captions are required for videos posted to YouTube and social media
- Captions may be added directly within the platform or uploaded as an .srt file
- When working with an external vendor, clearly define who is responsible for transcription services
