What advice would you offer other out-of-state students who are considering Auburn?

It can certainly be daunting to come here not knowing anyone, but you will meet people and find your niche. There are so many students that come from all over and learn that Auburn truly can be their second home.

What makes Auburn special?

Auburn is special because it truly is a family: the faculty cares about you, the people you meet become some of your best friends, and alumni are always willing to help and offer advice in any way they can. Auburn is also the perfect size. It is big enough that I am always meeting new people and that there is no shortage of diverse organizations to join or things to do. Yet at the same time, it is small enough that it doesn’t overwhelm you. Never a day goes by that I don’t stop and say hi to someone I know while walking on campus.

How has Auburn prepared you for your career?

I am an accounting major with a minor in Spanish. Auburn and the Harbert College of Business have prepared me incredibly well for my career. I have been provided with so many networking opportunities and events that have helped me learn more about the accounting profession and my career options after graduation. In fact, through events put on by the School of Accountancy, I connected with a top-tier accounting firm and will soon be interning with them in their Boston office.

How did Study Abroad enhance your Auburn experience?

I spent a spring semester studying abroad in Valencia, Spain. It was such an amazing experience which certainly pushed me out of my comfort zone, but ultimately led to me making lifelong friends and living with an incredible host family who gave me a better understanding of the Spanish culture. It also greatly improved my Spanish, and I am now able to use it in a setting outside of the classroom.
