Report Suspicious Activity

Keeping our campus as safe as possible is everyone's responsibility. All suspicious activity should be reported to police promptly. Suspicious activity may be an indicator of possible criminal or terrorist activity.

Examples of suspicious activity include:

  • A person with a weapon;
  • Dangerous actions or comments;
  • Someone acting unusual or out of place;
  • Someone accessing unauthorized areas;
  • Unusual requests for information.

If you observe suspicious activity:

  • Do not take direct action or confront a suspicious person.
  • Trust your instincts! If you think it is suspicious, it probably is.
  • Dial 911 if there is a potentially life-threatening situation.
  • If the situation is not life-threatening, call the Auburn Police non-emergency number (334-501-3100).
  • Give the most accurate description possible, including:
    • A brief description of the activity;
    • Date, time and location of the activity;
    • Physical characteristics (height, weight, hair color, etc.) of persons involved;
    • Description of vehicles involved;
    • Information about where individuals involved in the activity may have gone.
