Art Design Specialist
I am the second of three siblings to attend Auburn University. My brother paved the way first, even though my dad was an Alabama fan; a full ride academic scholarship was hard to turn down. After my brother attended Auburn on scholarship, I came to Auburn and my sister followed. Once I graduated with a bachelor's degree in graphic design, I decided to put down roots and stay in Auburn. I have lived in the Auburn area for 28 years and have been employed at the university for 16 years. Auburn is home for me and I can't imagine being anywhere else. We love Auburn so much even my Boston Terrier, Cookie, was in a commercial for Auburn.
I love being a designer; it is the perfect fit for me. Designing is like solving a puzzle - by making all the pieces fit you end up with something that is both functional and beautiful. At home I prefer to do more hands-on art. I am always looking for new things to try, either with a new medium or a new technique. Pinterest is a great source for inspiration and cool things that I never would have thought to try. Another thing I enjoy is participating in The Doodle Swap Project that my co-worker founded, because you always have time to doodle. Since it is a doodle I am able to create art without having to stress about it, which is nice. I also love my 1968 Red Mustang that has a big engine and lots of chrome!
Philosophy on Life:
God will never give you more than you can handle, and apparently he thinks I can handle a lot. Also, if you're not on two wheels when taking curves, you're driving too slow.
