Communications Editor

Day Job:
The majority of my time is spent writing and editing news releases, featured stories and other various publications. I coordinate with many communicators based in colleges and departments on campus including the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts, the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Sustainability. I'm a 2010 Auburn alumna and enjoy being able to use my journalism degree daily!

Favorite Auburn Experience:
My boyfriend Luke and I love traveling with friends and family to watch the Auburn Tigers play football! The most memorable road trip we've taken so far was for the 2010 BCS National Championship Game. I joined Luke and two of his family members on a 48-hour road trip across the country. We split up the first 24 hours of the trip over two days so we could sightsee on our way to Arizona, but after the game ended and we celebrated Auburn's amazing 22-19 win over Oregon, we had to head straight to the rental van to begin the journey back.

I had the first shift of driving and remember watching the sunset as we left Arizona and seeing the sunrise in Texas before I handed over the wheel. I think pure happiness (and a 5-hour energy drink) helped me get through that drive, but we were back in Auburn within 24 hours and headed back to work the next morning.

I wouldn't trade that experience for anything, but that's a drive I'll never make ever again in my life. I'm definitely flying next time…

Interests:
Lately, I've found myself enjoying running. In 2013 I decided to run my first 5k and I've wanted to keep going ever since. I ran my first 10k in 2014 and I am running my first half-marathon in February. Although I've come to enjoy it, the best part of running is still the part when it's over.

I also have an adorable mutt named Charli whom I love dearly. I rescued her in 2010 after she was found in a ditch and I couldn't have asked for a better companion in life! She's a big baby who loves peanut butter, bananas and sleep.
