Trio of native Fijians share culture, love for Auburn University on recent visit

The Auburn Family is well known across the globe, even on a remote island in the South Pacific.

No one on the tiny Fijian island of Vorovoro attended or graduated from Auburn University, but members of the Mali tribe, who call Vorovoro home, are well aware of Auburn and its family.

For the past five summers, the tribe has welcomed Auburn University students to Vorovoro for a study abroad trip through the College of Human Sciences. Read more about Auburn's study abroad trip to Vorovoro.

Summer 2017 graduating seniors should make plans to attend the 2017 Grad Fair May 30-June 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Haley Center Lobby. Graduates can reserve their cap and gown for the best early bird pricing, order graduation announcements, order their Auburn ring and much more.

Auburn alumna donates kidney to college roommate

Susannah Cleveland and Martha Dazzio

The love of the Auburn Family knows no bounds. And perhaps, it’s because members of the Auburn Family strive to live out the core values George Petrie wrote in The Auburn Creed.

"I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all."

Auburn alumnae Martha Dazzio ’93 and Susannah Cleveland ’93 understand that line in the creed more than most. The two were roommates at Auburn and they formed a friendship rooted in love. Although years have passed and the two live in separate cities, the bond that formed while on the Plains now runs deeper than ever. Read more about Dazzio and Cleveland.
