Auburn junior wins Student Design League with video board-inspired design

Rebecca Schneider, pictured above, used the new video board inside Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn University as her inspiration for a T-shirt design that was popular among voters in this year’s Student Design League.

So popular, in fact, the junior from Spanish Fort, Alabama, won the annual contest at Auburn with her design mimicking the nation’s largest college video board displaying the popular phrase, "Get Loud." [Read more]


SGA to host political speakers at Capitol on the Plains

SGA will host its annual Capitol on the Plains event Thursday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. in Langdon Hall. Students will hear from Speaker of the House Mac McCutcheon, Rep. Elaine Beech, Rep. Anthony Daniels and Rep. Terri Collins. Each year at Capitol on the Plains, guests are asked questions regarding new policy and important events going on in Alabama. At the end of the event, students will have an opportunity to ask further questions of the guests. The first 100 students to arrive will receive a free T-shirt.

TigerCard launches new mobile app for students to access cards

Students can now access their dining plans at all on-campus dining locations through the new mobile TigerCard. The TigerCard app will show the same photo as the physical TigerCard in addition to a barcode that will be scanned with making purchases at on-campus dining venues. To activate the app, students must have at least one printed TigerCard prior to utilizing mobile payment features. For additional information or instructions on how to download the new mobile TigerCard, go to http://www.aub.ie/tigercardapp or call 844-4507. 

Hansen named dean of Auburn’s Harrison School of Pharmacy

Richard Hansen, a department head and professor in the Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University, has been named the new dean of the school following a national search, effective May 15. [Read more]

Applications due Feb. 15 for Core Curriculum Program in Rome

The Auburn University Core Curriculum Program in Rome, Italy, offers students an opportunity to complete two core curriculum courses over five weeks in a beautiful international setting. The program is a collaboration between Auburn’s Office of International Programs, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Sciences and Mathematics and the University of Arkansas Rome Center. The center hosts students from several American universities. This partnership offers participants a chance to meet students from other universities and it helps control the cost of the program.
