Annual dance concert returns to Telfair Peet Theatre March 22 with ‘Take a Walk in Her Shoes’

Article body

The annual dance concert returns to Telfair Peet Theatre Main Stage on March 22 with “Take a Walk in Her Shoes.” Conceived and directed by College of Liberal Arts faculty members Adrienne Wilson and Jeri Dickey, “Take a Walk in her Shoes” draws on specific information from the 125th anniversary of women on Auburn’s campus. The performance will weave together varying forms of dance to highlight the multidimensional and daringly diverse experiences of women.

Wilson said she is pleased with the theme of the production, and with the diverse forms of dance.

“As we continue to celebrate 125 years of women at Auburn, ‘Take A Walk In Her Shoes’ moves the celebration into the world of dance, featuring choreography and performance by women faculty, students and guest artists,” Wilson said, and added, “I’m very excited to have such a variety of dance styles in one concert. Styles include tap, modern, soft shoe, ballet, and aerial skills.”

“Take a Walk in her Shoes” will run from March 22-25.

The artistic team for “Take a Walk in her Shoes” includes costume design by Tracy Oleinick, and lighting design by Fereshteh Rostampour, Jack Stoffel, Devin Stevens, Trevor Turner, and Catherine Pyle. Choreography by Adrienne Wilson, Jeri Dickey, Allie Dyleski, students, and featured guests. Featuring the Auburn University Student Dance Ensemble: Carey Ellen Andrzejewski, Lindsey Booth, Karlie Burrell, Ashley Butler, Sarah Cady, Molly Cassidy, Connor Dealy, Emma Fox, Caroline George, Samuel Haupert, Meghanne Helms, Teyonna Johnson, Arlene Maheu, Katie Milbrandt, Anne Nelson, Logan Pace, Stephanie Papp, Madison Pistoria, Dylan Renfrow, Jennifer Smoke, Ebony Strong, Jade Tate, Shanelle Valentine.
