Arts and Humanities Month will kick off in Auburn with "Celebrate the Arts on the Hill" on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 3-5 p.m. at Pebble Hill. The event is presented by The Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities in the College of Liberal Arts at Auburn University, the Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center and the Auburn Arts Association.

The celebration begins at 3 p.m. with art activities for children and tours of the historic 1847 Scott-Yarbrough house. A special performance celebrating the creative spirit by the Auburn University/Community Orchestra will begin at 4 p.m.

Those who attend the free, family-friendly community event can bring chairs or blankets for outdoor seating. Onsite parking is limited; street parking is available.

Throughout October, the College of Liberal Arts will host performances, lectures, exhibitions and other special events that offer opportunities to learn about, experience and participate in the arts and humanities. Visit www.clacelebrates.org for a calendar of events.
