For the first time in Auburn University's history, annual charitable giving by alumni and donors has exceeded $200 million. During its 2015 fiscal year, Auburn received new gifts and commitments totaling more than $202.1 million and experienced one of the sharpest annual fundraising increases in its history.

A holiday open house at Pebble Hill in Auburn will feature a talk on the Christmas Truce of 1914 given by Sebastian Lukasik on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. The historic 1847 Scott-Yarbrough house, known as Pebble Hill, will be open for tours from 3 to 4 p.m.; refreshments will follow the talk, which is open to the public.

The eighth annual unveiling of the Auburn gingerbread village Thursday, Dec. 10, at 5 p.m. will launch holiday festivities for The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. Immediately following Auburn's Christmas parade on Thursday, visitors can view the village in the lobby and enjoy hot cocoa, cider, cookies and a hand-bell choir performance. The village will then be on display throughout the month of December.

Auburn University will award 1,590 academic degrees Saturday, Dec. 12, in Auburn Arena during two fall graduation ceremonies featuring addresses by engineering professional Melissa Herkt, a 2015 recipient of the Auburn Alumni Association's Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dec. 4 Update: Continued donor support through Dec. 3 allowed the Auburn Alumni Association to achieve its goal for “From Troops to Tigers: New Scholarship Will Benefit Veterans,” thereby increasing the total of fully funded Tiger Giving Day projects to 18 and the total raised through Tiger Giving Day to $411,936.
