Auburn University homecoming events, including the parade, will take place Friday, Oct. 2, from 6 to 10 p.m. in downtown Auburn. The events are sponsored by the Student Government Association.

The parade will begin on Thach Avenue at 6 p.m. A pep rally at 6:30 p.m. and the free Plainsfest at Homecoming concert at 7 p.m. – featuring Matt Wertz and Parachute – will both take place in the Gay Street parking lot.

The Homecoming parade will feature floats competing in the Omicron Delta Kappa Float Competition, including entries from multiple fraternities, sororities and the Honors Congress. Along with the floats, the candidates for Miss Homecoming, the Auburn University Marching Band, Tiger Paws, Miss Auburn, Miss Auburn University, Aubie, the cheerleaders and other local groups will be walking in the parade. The parade will begin on Thach Avenue and will follow a route through downtown Auburn, ending on Mell Street by the library.

At the community pep rally following the parade, candidates for Miss Homecoming will briefly present their campaign platforms. During the Plainsfest at Homecoming concert at 7 p.m., food will be available from various vendors. The night has been labeled an Entertainment District Event.
