AUBURN UNIVERSITY – The Auburn University Psychological Services Center, serving the Auburn community for more than 30 years, will showcase its recent renovations during an open house Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Cary Hall near South Donahue and War Eagle Way. Visitors can tour the facilities and meet the director, Polly Dunn, as well as graduate clinicians.

Known to many of its clients as the region's best kept secret because of the professional treatment it provides, the renovations have made the center an even greater asset. There is a more modern and soothing atmosphere for clinical services and a comfortable waiting area, with separate space for children and families. There are now 10 individual therapy rooms, including two large play therapy rooms for younger children, as well as a group therapy room and two assessment rooms.

"In addition, there are increased observation capabilities, including one way mirrors and secure recording devices, allowing supervisors to provide more in-depth training to graduate clinicians and in turn improve care for center clients," Dunn said.

Since 1978, doctoral graduate students in clinical psychology have provided confidential and affordable therapy and assessment services for children, adolescents and adults. Services are available to anyone in the community; affiliation with the university is not required. Services are provided under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists who are faculty members in the Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts.

AUPSC is now accepting new clients. Evening hours are available, and fees are determined using a sliding scale based on income. Insurance is not accepted; clients can pay with cash, check or a credit card.

Parking will be available in the lot at the corner of Magnolia and South Donahue during the event. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
