Auburn University's online graduate programs in business, education and engineering are listed among the top programs nationally in the just released 2015 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings.

In the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business, the non-MBA online graduate programs were ranked sixth among such programs, while its online MBA program placed 10th in the nation among online MBA programs.

The College of Education ranked eighth among online graduate education programs and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering ranked 17th among online graduate engineering programs. The graduate computer information technology program, housed in Computer Science and Software Engineering, ranked sixth among such programs.

"The rankings affirm our commitment to providing an exceptional education for our distance learning students," said Timothy Boosinger, Auburn University provost and vice president for academic affairs. "Our online graduate programs are excelling and we are looking forward to expanding our fully online degree programs for both graduate and undergraduate students."

The university, which signed an agreement last spring with Everspring, a nationally prominent higher education support company, plans to build upon the success of its current online degree offerings by developing new distance education programs.

"Auburn will strategically create more online degree programs that are innovative, accessible and relevant. Our faculty will have the opportunity to deliver a high-quality academic experience that parallels our on-campus instruction," Boosinger said.

The U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings were scored on student engagement, student services and technology, faculty credentials and training, admissions selectivity and peer reputation. Only programs in which all the required coursework could be completed via distance education were considered for the rankings.
