Saying HEY in Every Way

Article body

Auburn's annual Hey Day included a "rawr" from a very special guest on Wednesday, Oct. 1. Zoe, an 11-week-old tiger cub from Wild Animal Safari in Pine Mountain, Georgia, joined Auburn students and faculty in the festivities on the Student Center campus green. The cub even got the chance to wrestle on the ground with the University’s own beloved tiger, Aubie. In addition to a visit from Zoe, the festivities included the Tiger Paws, a visit from Auburn's War Eagles Nova and Spirit, a performance by AU Cappella, the Auburn University cheerleaders, Miss Auburn University Meg McGuffin and free food for all participants. Sponsored by Student Government Association, Hey Day has been a favorite Auburn tradition since World War II. Nametags are passed around to all visitors and everyone is encouraged to send a "hey" to everyone around them, broadening the spirit of the Auburn family.
