The Auburn University Theatre, in the College of Liberal Arts, continues its 2014-2015 season with the musical-comedy, "Nunsense." Directed by Dan LaRocque, "Nunsense" will be the first production in the new Black Box Theatre addition. Show dates are Oct. 23, 24, 26 and Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m., and Oct. 26 and Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m.

"Nunsense" was created by Dan Goggin and tells the tale of an accidental poisoning of most of the members of Sister Julia's order and of the surviving Little Sisters of Hoboken putting on a show to raise money for the burials.

"It is quite an honor to be directing the first production in the new studio performance space," LaRocque said. "The addition to Auburn's Telfair Peet Theatre facility brings a long-sought goal to fruition by providing a critical component for the education and training of our students. It's a goal that could not have been realized without the vision, leadership and support exhibited by Auburn's higher administration."

LaRocque said that "Nunsense" was selected as the first production in the new space partly because of the spirit of the production.

"Working on a show as entertaining and jubilant as "Nunsense,"with such a talented company of students on stage and behind the scenes makes the experience truly exceptional," LaRocque said. "It is a decidedly spirited celebration on all accounts!"

The cast of "Nunsense" includes senior Gabriella Anderson as Sister Amnesia; junior Emily Baade as Sister Leo; junior Hannah Rae Faulk as Sister Hubert; senior Dani as Sister Robert Anne; and senior Kathleen O'Hara as Reverend Mother.

"Nunsense" was last performed at Auburn University 22 years ago. Seating in the new space will be limited and seats will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. General tickets are $15; for more information about ticketing, go to www.auburn.edu/theatre or contact Linda Bell at (334) 844-4154.
