Auburn University has established its first Society for Advancing Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science Chapter, or SACNAS, led by the Office of Special Projects and Initiatives. The SACNAS Chapter at Auburn University is a student organization, established in January 2017, with the goal of advancing and supporting the population of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in STEM at Auburn. This organization promotes inclusion and opens its membership to any individual, regardless of ethnicity and/or STEM interest. SACNAS at Auburn University welcomes all individuals, professionals, undergraduate and graduate students. The chapter will provide opportunities to serve in leadership positions, present research at and attend national conferences and participate in community outreach.
