At the next Discover Auburn book talk, Chuck Hemard, associate professor in the Department of Art and Art History, will discuss “The Pines: Southern Forests” Wednesday, March 7 at 3 p.m. in the Ralph Brown Draughon Library’s Special Collections and Archives Department on the ground floor.

Hemard’s monograph explores remnants of the old-growth longleaf pinelands across the Southeast. Historically, this was once one of America’s most significant landscapes.

Hemard’s photographs have been exhibited nationally and throughout the Southeast at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia in Atlanta, Opal Gallery in Atlanta, the Light Factory in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as a commissioned project with the Columbus Museum in Columbus, Georgia.

A reception will follow the program.
