Visiting scholar Victor S. Batista will give a talk, "Olfactory Receptors: How our sense of smell starts at the molecular level," on Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Science Center auditorium from 7:30-9 p.m. This event is free and open to all.

Batista is a professor of chemistry at Yale University. His research is concerned with the development of rigorous and practical methods for simulations of quantum processes in complex systems and with applied studies of photochemical and electrochemical processes.

Batista will also be the guest speaker for the Chemistry and Biochemistry Colloquium on Friday, Feb. 16, from 3:30-5 p.m. in 115 Science Center Classroom, which is also open to anyone interested in attending.
