Mnozil Brass, one of the world’s premiere brass bands, will be performing in the Auburn-Opelika area the last week of February.

On Tuesday, Feb. 27, and Wednesday, Feb. 28, Mnozil Brass will perform at the Opelika Center for the Performing Arts from 7:30-9:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $20 for adults,= and $10 for students and are available by calling 749-8105, or by ordering them online from the Arts Association of East Alabama

At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, Mnozil Brass and Auburn University Brass Faculty will host a masterclass for high school students in Goodwin Music Building (Auburn main campus). For more information about the masterclass, call 844-4165.

Mnozil brass has been around since 1992. What began in Vienna in Josef Mnozil’s tavern has become so well-known in concert circles that they now hold more than 120 concerts a year around the world. Their Facbook page, which has more than 100,000 followers, claims, “We play applied brass music for people from all walks of life. We face every challenge, no tone is too high for us, no lip is too hot and no music is too inferior. You can see our music and you can smell the stage performance.”
