The first lecture in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture spring 2018 lecture series is Monday, Feb. 12. Jean-François Lejeune, professor of architecture, urban design and history in the University of Miami School of Architecture, will present “Rural Utopia and Modernity in Franco’s Spain, 1935-1975” at 3:30 p.m. in B6 Dudley auditorium. His lecture is free and open to the public.

A Belgian-born architect, Lejune’s research has also focused on Latin America and Miami. He is the author of several books and is currently working on two monographs: Loos and Schinkel: The Metropolis between the Individual and the Collective and The Modern Village: Rural Utopia and Modernity in Franco’s Spain.
