Campus Safety and Security offers emergency preparedness and active shooter response training for employees. Both courses are Thursday, Feb. 15. Employee emergency preparedness gives an overview of Auburn’s emergency guidelines and notification system, expectations of faculty and staff during an emergency, safety devices on campus and general campus safety information. Active shooter response training gives employees a range of options available using Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate, or ALICE. Instructors will demonstrate techniques for lockdown, barricading and countering an attack. Employee emergency preparedness is 8–9:15 a.m. Active shooter response training is 9:30–11:30 a.m. at Campus Safety and Security’s emergency operations center at 543 W. Magnolia Avenue.
