The Biggio Center is hosting a workshop on “Reacting to the Past” for faculty, GTAs and instructional support staff March 6, 3:30-4:45 p.m. in 3550 Mell Classroom Building @ RBD Library. Students learn more effectively when the content can be related to their personal experiences, interests and life situations. “Reacting to the Past” is a game-based approach to immerse students into historical situations and broad contexts through role-playing founded on research. Reacting inspires students to think about the broader contexts of situations past and present, and to engage critically with perspectives different from their own. This panel discussion will provide examples of “Reacting to the Past” and discussion about implementation into a course, including students’ perspectives.
