Libraries' Special Collections and Archives Department would like to call attention to the revised Public Universities of Alabama Functional Analysis and Records Disposition Authority policies approved in May 2017 and effective immediately.

This revised policy will govern the new schedule under which colleges and departments determine what records need to be held permanently, eventually transferred to Special Collections and Archives and which records may be destroyed.

Before any records are destroyed, the archives must sign off on a Certificate of Records Destruction. Departments are asked to use the Records Disposition Authority to fill out the Certificate of Records Destruction form.

All copies of the old Public Universities of Alabama Functional Analysis and Records Disposition Authority policies should be discarded and the new policy followed from this point forward.
